Bailey said the core of Cruisin’ The Coast is much the same as its been for 27 years — a combinations of hospitality, food, scenery and events. Crowds and vehicles converge on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in October 2018 for the annual Cruisin' the Coast event. Cruisin' the Coast kicks off Sunday across the Mississippi coast. Named the "Best Car Show" by USA Today readers in four of the last five years, the event annually draws tens of thousands of Cruisers and spectators alike. Only Registered Cruisers may drive into and park in the different sites. In your registration packet is your Window ID Card; this is your entry into the site (not the decal). As soon as you get your Window ID Card, place the card in the windshield, on the dash or on the sun visor for the rest of your visit so you can enter as many times as you wish.

One of the highlights of the event is the famed Cruisin’ The Coast Swap Meet at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. This year's outdoor showroom is expected to welcome around 250 vendors selling a wide variety of goods that range from car bumpers to jewelry. While the event will welcome a selection of new vendors in 2023, many of the well-known vendors from past years will be showing up again with their quality merchandise.

America's largest block party is returning to the Mississippi Gulf Coast this October! The 27th Annual Cruisin' The Coast celebration will take place from Oct. 1 through Oct. 8 at various locations throughout Gulfport, Biloxi, and beyond. The event features car shows, headlining bands, an epic swap meet, auto auctions, cruise-ins, and more! Here's what you need to know if you're riding to Cruisin' The Coast 2023. It’s already a record-breaking year, said Woody Bailey, executive director of Cruisin’ The Coast, with 8,515 antique and classic cars, hot rods and trucks pre-registered by Aug. 15, That’s 492 more than last year. Another 1,000 to 1,200 Cruisers register during the event, he said, but last year that number soared to 1,600.

Casinos up and down the Mississippi coast will also offer live entertainment throughout Cruisin’ week-long run. There are surprises each year, such as longtime Tonight Show host Jay Leno turning up in Ocean Springs during Cruisin’ last year. The Beach Boys are an annual visitor, performing at the Beau Rivage Resort during Cruisin’.

Cruisin’ The Coast®  has 12 Host Car Clubs providing over 700 volunteers who help with registering vehicles, directing cars at the venues, giving directions, and welcoming our guests. There are hundreds of behind the scenes and pre-event activities that our volunteers help with all year long. When you see someone in a bright yellow staff shirt – that is a fellow car lover who is donating time to make this a fun event for all. If you get a chance you may want to say thank you to a volunteer during your visit. Cruisin’s longtime executive director Woody Bailey said part of the event immense popularity stems from everything it offers, not just the classic cars.

Cruisin' The Coast® is the biggest special event in the state of Mississippi. With Waveland at the west end of the coast returning to the Cruisin’ lineup for the first time since 2006, all 12 Mississippi coast cities will host Cruisin’ events. Each venue serves as a self-contained festival, with live music, vendors, special parking for Cruisers, spectator parking, and event merchandise. New this year, Waveland will host an event for the first time since 2006, stretching out the block party nearly from state line to state line.
